Patients are admitted to the Spinal Cord Injury Unit at Royal North Shore Hospital following a catastrophic event. This is a highly traumatic time for patients and families which involves a stay in the spinal unit of approximately 60 days. The Spinal Cord Injury Unit cares for people with spinal cord injury from all over New South Wales, many of who are isolated from family, friends and support networks. The spinal unit endeavours to provide not only expert health care, both physically and emotionally, but also offering the 'bricks' required to rebuild their lives.
To help the Spinal Cord Injury Unit to continue to provide the specialised rehabilitation pathways, they are seeking supporters to the fundraising dinner, donations in either the form of an item that could be auctioned on the night or a financial contribution to the spinal unit. All gifts will be appropriately acknowledged by the hostess, Kerri-Anne Kennerley. All proceeds raised on the night will go directly to the Spinal Cord Injury Unit, Royal North Shore Hospital and will aid in purchasing assistive technology equipment, supporting patients’ to experience activities and therefore improving their rehabilitation outcomes.
