Friday, February 03, 2012

The Spinal Cord Injury Network is pleased to be hosting a Research Showcase at the NSW Trade and Investment Centre in Sydney on 28th February 2012.

Since 2003, the NSW Government has committed more than $22 million to research into spinal cord injury and related conditions. The event is an opportunity to find out more about the research that has been conducted through this program as well as new research on the horizon.

The Showcase features presentations by recipients of the 2009 NSW Government Fellowship grants:

  • Dr Sylvia Gustin, University of Sydney

  • Dr Gila Moalem-Taylor, University of NSW

  • Dr Penelope McNulty, Neuroscience Research Australia.

In addition, Associate Professor James Middleton and Dr Bonne Lee will talk about their clinical research, which has been funded through the National Health and Medical Research Council.

Associate Professor James Middleton will present on “Access to care: right care, right time, right place.”

Dr Bonne Lee is leading  “ProSCIUTTU" a multicentre randomised controlled trial to assess the efficacy, safety and cost utility of probiotic prophylaxis of spinal cord injury urinary tract infection.
